When Material Comfort Doesn’t Mean a Thing

I just read some news in someone’s life about how much love they have loss in the past couple of months. It got me thinking, here I am watching their lives unfold and thinking to myself, “Wow, they are so comfortable and so happy. They’re not religious and sometimes vulgar, yet (appear) so blessed.” I don’t deny wishing to have what they have. And when I read the news that they have most recently published, I can’t help but think, “We only see how materially comfortable they are, we don’t see how the other aspects of their life may not be so comfortable.” I’m sorry for their loss and appreciate how honest and humble they are despite of their wealth and status.

Truly, this makes me appreciate the things that I have in life, even if I may not be as materially comfortable as I wish I was. Even if Eli can’t stay at home with me all day because he has to go into an office to earn a living, I am thankful that we are alive and together.
