Once, I casually mentioned to Eli how nice it felt when he took a step back and touched me at the small of my back as we walked towards the altar to receive Holy Communion.
While it is a practice that some men do all the time, this is not something that happens in my culture and isn’t something that Eli does all the time.
Today, Eli went forward, then took a side step and touched the small of my back nudging me forward while he slipped in behind me. It was a very awwwww moment for me because I was not expecting him to remember a comment I made about such a gesture.
As we knelt before the Blessed Sacrament this evening, Eli made me laugh. My heart skipped many beats and I know Jesus wasn’t offended because my heart was so joyful. I thanked Jesus for giving Eli to me, this wonderful man who makes me laugh and fills my life with indescribable joy.
