“My girlfriend wants a Mini Cooper,” is the response Eli gives when people ask him why he switched his car. This is also a response that no one seems to believe!

Fortunately for me, it is the whole truth. Eli considered the Mini to be too much like a toy car but he decided to humour me and give one a test drive. He was seduced.

So on this day, a month before our anniversary I made him this card.

It is suppose to be a card-version of a Mini Cooper S, which I butchered. Anyhow, Eli has yet to see it and I hope he would love it! This card stands on its own four wheels and I love it!

In the photo below, you’ll see the final product right at the top – this card opens “upwards” and you read the message “downwards” like a pop-up. My initial sketch of the Mini Cooper is pictured in the middle, and the cardboard at the bottom is the stencil I made from the sketch.

The sketching and stencilling took about 30 minutes while the assembly of the card took me two whole hours! Well worth it when I see Eli’s perfect smile and beautiful brown eyes light up. I can’t wait to see him.
