Two Deflated Tires

After an entire year of getting by without actually running/jogging/walking for fitness, Eli forced us out to the gym today. But seeing as the weather was hot – for the first time this year – I suggested we go for a walk at the trail opposite our house.

But Eli had another idea. He wanted to run it. Whether you believe it or not, in my heyday, I was a competitive cross-country runner and like to think of myself as a “runner” today.

So we ran. And OMG.

I don’t think I did an update here, but my thigh muscles have long gone. I no longer have that bulge above my knee, thanks to inactivity. But today, after the not-so-grueling trail, I saw those muscles again! Hooray!

We’ll see how the both of us hold up tomorrow. In the meantime, picture two deflated tires. That’s how we are, piled in the middle of the living room.
