I no longer understand why we often assume that ‘big’ people are disadvantaged. The media make plus-sized people out to be comedians, loners and always friends, never lovers.
We watched The Biggest Loser finale this evening and I cannot help but think about this six-figure opportunity that I will never have because I am simply not physically big enough.
Subway supported a contestant’s weight loss by offering her a thousand dollars for every pound she loses! Now, how can that not be motivation enough? She lost over 50 pounds at weigh-in and Subway has doubled their offer if she would train to complete a marathon.
I’m not greedy, but why didn’t anyone pay me to lose the 10 pounds that I did in the past month? I have self-esteem issues too!
So guess who is truly The Biggest Loser? Yep, those of us who are sitting home, paying those sponsors big money to pay for someone else to look good.
